Spend
your Summer Riding, Fishing & Hiking in the Wyoming High Country!
Wyoming
in the Summer is a magical experience. The mountains are alive
with wildlife and the sweet smell of wildflowers. You'll see
moose, elk, deer and bighorn sheep filling their bellies on the
rich abundant grass. The trout are feasting on an ample food
supply in the rivers, beaver ponds and creeks. This is a special
time to be in the Wyoming high country.
Our camp is
located 22 miles into the Washakie Wilderness adjoining the
southeastern boundary of Yellowstone National Park. The trek
requires an 8-hour Horse or Mule ride. Once in camp, the
vacation is yours to plan. Your group can do things together
everyday or split up and do
a multitude
of things on your trip. You can go fishing, hiking, sight-seeing,
play horse-shoes, sit by the camp-fire at night and much more.
While in camp, you will enjoy
family-style meals for breakfast and dinner. For lunch you can
either stay in camp or
take
a sack-lunch with you
on your daily wilderness trek. We look forward to giving
you a quality Summer Vacation you will remember for a lifetime!
Your Host,
Tim Doud, has been guiding Wilderness enthusiast for nearly 25
years and has been training horses and mules for 15 of those
25 years. In 2006, Tim took his training to a professional level
and became the first person to successfully graduate from the
John Lyons Certification Program using only Mules. This program
teaches all aspects of training horses and mules, from riding
a Mule for the first time, to teaching a Mule to perform advanced
maneuvers.
Wilderness Trail-Riding
Clinics (Educational)
In addition to summer riding
vacations, Tim also offers
five, six or
seven day Wilderness Trail Riding Clinics. These Clinics
are very structured and include instruction by Tim Doud from
9AM
to 4PM each day. All meals & lodging are included.
Tim emphasizes gentle
training methods and teaches clinic participants how to
better communicate with their horse or mule. Understanding that
training
is a long-term
commitment, Tim gives clients the tools to continue training
their equines at home.
Whether you have a spooky-mule
or horse, or one that does not cross water, needs to become lighter
to
the bridle, does not stand to be mounted, is buddy sour, jiggy
on the trail, or other trail performance issues, Tim teaches
trail savvy training techniques to help you form a better relationship
with your equine. See Clinics for
additional information.
